This training discusses the trauma and hardships that LGBTQ youth may face in general and the unique experiences and fears LGBTQ youth in care face. This information is then translated into informing the audience on the best practices for referrals, intake, placement, and discharge processes. The speakers then discuss the policies and laws that affect LGBTQ youth in both federal and state capacities. Best practices, policies, and procedures at the organizational level is discussed. Although basic terminology is covered in the beginning of the training, it is recommended that a foundation of LGBTQ knowledge be understood prior to watching this video.
